Privacy Policy

Effective date: to be set at launch

Who we are

EdgeFocus helps you identify where personal information may be exposed online, request cleanup or removal where available, and monitor for reappearance. Questions about this policy: support@edgefocus.com.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly: name, email, phone number, city and state; full or prior addresses and aliases if you provide them for cleanup; household-member information on a Family plan; spam examples or screenshots you submit; support messages; billing and subscription information.

We do not collect full payment card numbers — payments are processed by Stripe.

The $1 trial

When you start a $1 five-day trial we collect what's needed to create your account, process the trial, and run your exposure scan: name, email, phone, city, state, plan selection, and trial dates. Your trial includes your scan and partially masked results; initial cleanup begins with a paid monitoring plan (your first quick-win removals may begin during the trial).

After you subscribe

To improve cleanup accuracy we may ask for full current and prior addresses, additional emails and phone numbers, previous names, and — on Family plans — information for one authorized household member. We collect these only as needed and explain why.

Family members and children

By submitting another person's information you confirm you are authorized to do so. If the household member is a minor, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian. EdgeFocus is for adults 18+; we do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13, and we delete it if we learn we have.

How we use information

To run your scans, generate risk scores, prepare and track removal requests, monitor for reappearance, process billing, provide support, prevent fraud, and comply with law. We do not use information you submit for scanning or cleanup for unrelated advertising.

How we share information

With service providers that operate EdgeFocus (payments, hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, support tooling), bound to use it only for our service; with your consent; to submit removal or opt-out requests on your behalf; to comply with law; or in a business transfer.

We do not sell your personal information

EdgeFocus does not sell or rent your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or marketing companies.

Analytics

Analytics events use ranges and categories (plan type, device type, risk-score band). We do not send names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, family-member names, screenshots, spam content, or broker URLs containing personal information to analytics tools.

Screenshots and uploads

Uploaded files may contain sensitive information. We use them to verify exposure, support removal requests, and document progress. They are stored privately and never made public.

Retention and deletion

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the service, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention. Trial data may be deleted or anonymized if you don't convert. You can request account deletion at any time via support@edgefocus.com; we delete or anonymize unless the law requires retention.

Your rights

Depending on your state, you may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising them. California residents have rights under the CCPA. To exercise any right, contact support@edgefocus.com; we may need to verify your identity.

California DROP

California's Delete Act provides a free state-run deletion platform (DROP). EdgeFocus helps you understand, use, and track DROP; unless we clearly state otherwise, we do not submit DROP requests directly on your behalf.

Security

We use safeguards including authentication, role-based access, row-level database controls, private file storage, and encrypted connections. No system is 100% secure.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will update the effective date and include notice where required.
